Beanie (Girl)

This weekend, after this last cold front, I realized something... Tayler doesn't have any beanies! Since I already had a lot of fleece on hand, I decided I would make her one. Well, that was easier said than done. I was reminded of something... sewing is not about needles and thread or  knowing how to use a sewing machine. Yes, you do need those things, but sewing is more about having a great imagination and a good mathematics foundation.
I was not able to find any good instructions online. They were all on how to crochet a beanie. So, I decided to make my own pattern. After several attempts, I finally got the measurements right! There are still a couple of things that I need to tweek but hey, it was my first one!

Coffee, anyone?

I have always loved the idea of having a coffee themed kitchen. I was finally able to decorate our current kitchen that way...
One of the most important aspects of my "coffee kitchen" is the coffee station!
I am currently working on a coffee-themed window valence. Stay tuned for that! For now, I have made a coffee-themed apron that has an absorbant strip. I have not found anything like this online so this is completely my design. :) I have never really been an apron kind of girl but lately when I am doign dishes, washing bottles, preparing dinner, etc. I hate having to constantly search for where I sat the towel. Now, I have a cute apron with a towel attached.

Stay tuned for many more projects that are under construction!

Diaper Pouch

Do you have a child, or grandchild, who is not potty trained? Don't you just hate lugging around a diaper bag just to run an errand or two? I do. Usually I put the diapers and a travel wipe case in a big purse but then the diaper gets all squished. Or sometimes when we go to dinner, I know my husband is going to pay :) so I don't want to bring a purse, but I need diapers just in case. So, I decided to make a diaper pouch. They hold a travel wipe case and 2-3 diapers. You could also stick in a paper changing pad and a tube of rash cream down the side if you only put in 2 diapers. I can stick the wide one in my purse or I can carry the tall one on my wrist.

Below are some of the pouches that I have made:

TuTu Cute!

I absolutely LOVE making tutus! I decided to start making my own for my daughter after seeing how cheaply made, flat (and let's be honest.. ugly) the tutus at the store are.

My tutus are hand wrapped around non-roll elastic and then machine sewn for extra durability. They are also made of yards and yards of tulle for a more full look.

Pictures of some of the tutus that I have made:
